The cultural association América Baila

America Baila is a Latin American cultural association based in Switzerland, founded in 2002. What began as a small dance project has grown into a vibrant, intergenerational cultural space where people of different backgrounds, ages and life experiences come together.

At the heart of our work is dance as an expression of identity, connection and community. We offer dance programs for children from the age of 4, teenagers, adults and older adults. Our classes, rehearsals and projects are open both to people with Latin American roots and to anyone interested in dance, movement and cultural diversity.

One of the main goals of America Baila is to enable cultural participation for all. We build bridges between generations, cultures and languages, creating safe and inclusive spaces where people can grow, learn from one another and create together.

A key focus of our work is lived multilingualism. All activities are conducted consistently in German and Spanish, allowing multilingualism to be experienced naturally in everyday practice and strengthening openness, understanding and social integration.

Through classes, public performances, dance theatre productions and community events, America Baila actively contributes to intercultural dialogue and social cohesion in Switzerland.
