Palo de Mayo: “Túlu-Lúlu pass anda”
This Afro-Caribbean dance style with its sensual movements is an important element of various cultural communities in Nicaragua. However, it is also danced in Belice, Islas de Bahia (Honduras), Costa Rica, Panama und Puerto Rico.
It is mostly only performed at the ceremonies that welcome the rainy season in May. Mayaya, the Goddess of fertility who is associated with life and good harvests is honoured in this performance.
